This beautiful nature reserve is a 'must see' visitor spot for wildlife lovers! Once a chalk quarry, it has now been reclaimed by nature and offers an abundance of plant life and wildlife, and is particularly renowned for it water birds.
Popular with both bird watchers and families, you can take a gentle stroll around the 2 mile circular walk, visit the Bee Centre, learn about the wildlife at the interactive Visitor Centre and then grab a coffee and a snack at the on-site cafe.
The 67 hectare site is managed by Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust who also organise regular family fund days at the reserve. College Lake is open all year round on Tuesdays through to Sundays from 10am to 5pm (last entry at 4pm).
How to Get Here: Moor up near bridge 133 and head northwards on Upper Icknield Way. The Reserve is less than a 10 minute walk and is situated on the left hand side of the road.
