Visiting The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Beauty offers a rich variety of outdoor activities and the opportunity to discover its spectacular and varied landscape. Cycling provides one of the best and most enjoyable ways of exploring the area. Hop onto one of our specially designed short, medium or long routes which showcase the Chilterns’ spectacular scenery and features many of its highlights.

Less than 45 minutes out of London (Euston - Tring) pedal your way through stunning countryside and history. Whether it’s a half-day bimble with coffee and cake or a longer day out with lunch at one of many superb pubs, cafes and eateries - this area has it all.

Stop by historic villages such as of Aldbury - famous for its iconic Tudor styling it has featured in many a period movie. Cruise along the pretty Grand Union Canal and onto the Marsworth Reservoirs and bird sanctuary. Explore Britain’s oldest road - the Ridgeway, and meander through the beautiful Ashridge Estate. This vast NT Estate with its ancient trees, rolling chalk and lush meadows supports a rich variety of wildlife including fallow deer and mind-blowing bluebell carpets in spring. Cruise past the Bridgewater Monument along lovely flowing trails until you pop out at the spectacular Ivinghoe Beacon - western tip of the Ridgeway. Here the trig point provides simply jaw-dropping views across Aylesbury Vale. With a perfect blend of endless sweeping forest trails, you'll be treated to some of the Chilterns’ best off-road biking.

Book a weekend trip with Wild Cycles and explore the best views and trails the Chilterns AONB has to offer. At the end of the weekend, spend a night in one of the many countryside B&Bs and then ride on down to Cow Roast where you' can continue you car-free holiday aboard you own private canal boat as you wind your way through the foothills.
