Plus, the local towns of Berkhamsted and Tring with their cobbled streets have an array of historic buildings to appreciate and one of the oldest motte-and-bailey castles, Berkhamsted Castle is well worth a visit while you are there.

3. The Chilterns are so easy to get to! Located just outside the M25, the Chilterns are easily accessible from most of the south east, especially London. You can be here in less then an hour by train from Euston Station making it a perfect destination for a quick weekend getaway.
